A wonderful shrub for small birds to nest and shelter within. Suited to open forest with dry shallow soils. Likes good drainage. An untidy shrub with thousands of tiny thorns. Flowers are large and a rich golden yellow. Seed pods are furry. A must if you want small birds for insect control in your windbreaks.
